Meet the Musicians

Chuck Curry – Trumpet & Vocals

Trumpeter, vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator Chuck Curry has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning jazz, theater, and popular music. He began playing the trumpet at just five years old and has since performed with legendary artists including George Benson and The Temptations. A veteran of the musical theater stage, Chuck appeared in five Broadway National Tours, including the 2017 Tony Award-winning revival of Pippin. He currently serves as music director and performer at the Silver Star Theater in Mesa, Arizona. Equally at home in the concert hall and jazz club, Chuck brings a warm stage presence, dazzling trumpet artistry, and engaging vocals to every performance.

Ioannis Goudelis – Piano

Greek-born pianist and composer Ioannis Goudelis has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Central America, and the Pacific. Born in Greece, he studied jazz piano at Arizona State University and music for film at UCLA. His impressive list of collaborators includes James Newton Howard, Mike Stern, Nicholas Payton, Bobby Broom, Howard Alden, Ray Price, World Party, Azar Lawrence, Pantelis Thalassinos, and Alexia Vassiliou. He has also appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show. His original compositions have been featured on House, NCIS, HBO productions, and national advertising campaigns.

Mike King – Bass

Bassist Mike King is one of Arizona's premier jazz musicians, admired for his exceptional groove, lyrical improvisation, and outstanding musicianship. A sought-after performer throughout the Southwest, he has shared the stage with numerous nationally recognized jazz artists and regularly performs in the Payson Jazz Series, as well as at concerts, festivals, clubs, and recording sessions across Arizona. In addition to performing, Mike has taught college-level music in the Valley, helping develop the next generation of musicians.

Gerry Reynolds – Drums

Drummer Gerry Reynolds is a veteran performer whose tasteful playing and exceptional sense of swing have made him a favorite among Arizona jazz musicians. Having performed with many of the region's finest artists throughout his career, Gerry is known for his musical sensitivity, dynamic energy, and ability to elevate every performance. He also continues to play an important role in the Payson Jazz Series, helping bring outstanding jazz musicians to the community.
